L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad
First of all, I never watched “The Hills”, I will assume that a lot of this book is based on Lauren Conrad’s experiences on this reality.
The book is about a girl named Jane, she and her best friend, Scarlett, move to L.A. to pursue their independence and leave their comfort zone, what they would never imagined is that the road ahead is full of difficulties. Jane's character fights to survive life in Los Angeles when suddenly her life changes again. Before life settles and she is getting used to the way things are, she and her best friend are selected to be part of a new reality show. Not a long time after taking part on this reality they realize their relationships are being invaded and surrounded with scandal.
This book is written in a very simple prose and starts really slow, I could think about this book as a guilty-pleasure just to go out of my usual reading. It’s light, fun and easy to read, the book doesn’t have a heavy morale, many times it shines because of the lack of it. Overall I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a quick, light, fun, easy to read book, would be great to read on the beach or if you are into reality shows the book gives you a sneak peak of behind the scenes at how reality shows work.

I felt the same way about this book, It was a very easy read, nothing spectacular but not horrible
Great review :) Sounds cute.
I've never watched the hills either. Sounds like a cute book though.
Thanks for the honest review! I've never watched The Hills either, but I still bought this book because I'm interested in this sort of things, behind the scenes stuff etc. I look forward to reading it eventually, although I don't really expect to be blown away, but I suppose it'll keep me entertained for a while and that's fine by me. :)
Great review!! I felt the same way about this one. I'm actually glad to see another review similar to mine. I was starting to think I was one of the only people who didn't absolutely love this one.
i read multiple mix reviews about the book. i think i'm going to get to read the myself to see how it goes for me..good review shantal!
Brilliant, honest review. I honestly cannot bring myself to read it because it's Lauren Conrad, but that's just me. I'd prefer to read a book with great prose and a world in which I can lose myself :)
I watch The Hills and I like Lauren Conrad which made me read this. I liked this book as it was really simple and something I could read quite quickly. I know that it isn't the best quality of literature but it is good all the same. I think if you don't watch The Hills or Laguna Beach or The City you are not going to like it, you are also going to find it really dull. But all in all I like that your review is quite frank and honest, not everyone likes the same books so each to their own interests.
I actually was surprised that I liked this book. It was a simple, good read.
I have an award for you on my blog :)
It might be interesting to learn what goes on behind the scenes of these shows, but I don't think I'd enjoy this book! I love your review, though.

This book is really popular but I'm not sure it is my cup of tea. I may try it some time. Nice review.
By the way, you have an award on my blog.
I've never even heard of THE HILLS, so I'm guessing this might not be my kind of book. Oh well.
Glad to have found you through the Book Blogger Hop!
I did get sucked into the Hills a few times when I was sick in bed with the flu-I thought the whole thing was pretty strange. LOL! I think I'll skip htis one and read the Real, Real. They sound kind of similar in their plots but I really liked the Nanny Diaries.
Thanks for the review.
I saw this book in the bookstore.
But I didn't pick it up.
Perhaps I never will.
Because it sounds.... simple.
:)
Great review. I have read it a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it. It was really simple, but very quilty pleasure. :)
I really want to read the second book too.
